How It All Began

In 2012, two Calgary-based IT professionals—Kyle Benning and Jamal Denny—decided to change that. Working at another IT firm, they noticed a recurring pattern: companies weren’t getting what they needed, and long-term support was often an afterthought. The gap between what clients wanted and what they received was too wide to ignore.

As two friends with a lot in common – both originally from Saskatchewan with shared values, a sense of humour, and a love for the Roughriders - Kyle and Jamal knew they made a great team, and they believed they could do things better. Drawing inspiration from Kyle’s two children, Kaiden and Coby, they launched Kaco Systems to deliver tailored, relationship-driven IT services.

Environmental Sustainability Goals for 2025-2026

Promote Telecommuting and Flexible Work Arrangements

We’re committed to reducing carbon emissions from employee commuting by 25% by April 1, 2026.

To meet this target, we’ll actively promote telecommuting and flexible work options across our teams—helping us foster a healthy work-life balance while also increasing our sustainability.

Employees receive the tools they need to work effectively from anywhere, including video conferencing platforms and secure remote access to company systems.

When commuting is necessary, we’ll encourage low-impact travel options such as carpooling, public transit, and cycling. We’ll monitor our progress by tracking emissions data and will keep employees informed through regular internal updates.

Implement Energy Efficiency Measures

Our company is committed to reducing energy consumption by 20% by December 31, 2026.

We want to reduce our environmental impact and use energy more responsibly. To reach this goal, we will begin by conducting a comprehensive energy audit to identify inefficiencies and guide our priorities. Some of actions we will be taking will be:

Upgrading to energy-efficient lighting
Fine-tuning HVAC systems
Rolling out power management settings for computers and electronics
Exploring renewable energy options, such as installing solar panels and purchasing renewable energy credits for both our operations and client projects.

Reduce Paper Usage by 50%

Our company aims to reduce paper usage by 50% within the next year (April 1, 2026).To achieve this, we are implementing paperless practices across the company—digitizing documents, shifting to electronic communication and file sharing, and using e-signatures for contracts and agreements.

We are also equipping employees with the training and tools they need to work digitally and encouraging a print-less mindset. Our team will track progress monthly and keep everyone informed through internal updates.
