our story
Kaco Systems has created a team culture where connecting clients with solutions that meet and exceed their expectations is the rule, not the exception
We’re dedicated, bold, but not afraid to have fun. Come meet our team!
Jamal Denny
President/Co-Founder
What do I do at Kaco – I am the President and one of two Principal consultants within Kaco (also officially the tallest person!). I work closely with all teams/departments to ensure that everything we do aligns to our company values of Excellence, Integrity, Fun and Adaptability.
Thoughts on Technology - Being a tech person for the last 15+ years I have always tried my best to keep on top of all the latest technology. I wanted to be an expert in everything! When I hit year 10 in the industry I realized that until they invented the 48 hour day there would be no way I could maintain expert status on all the technologies that interested me. Instead I am content to settle with keeping abreast at a high level of new technologies and admiring how far things have come from when I first started.
What do I do for fun - Love sports! Mostly playing instead of watching. My favorites are rugby and basketball. Starting to get into boxing of which I am quickly learning that it’s much harder than it looks! Also enjoy spending time with my wife travelling and exploring locally and abroad.

Kyle Benning
Chief Technology Officer/Co-Founder
What do I do at Kaco
I am one of the principals and Chief Technology Officer at Kaco Systems. I, along with Jamal, started the company with the idea of doing something different from other technology providers. My background is in the Network/Security verticals but I have experience, like many true ‘tech’ lovers, in all IT systems end to end. As with many small companies I wear multiple hats (Management to Implementation to Support), but no desire to lose my technical hands on. I feel the passion we have with technology is a core benefit to our customers.
Thoughts on Technology
I have had a love for all things ‘techie’ since I was quite young, and had my first love of computers from programming a VIC-20 with BASIC (with some sibling assistance) to play games that would surely make my children scoff. Network has always been my passion since I first discovered xmodem and the ability to transfer files over my phone line from one computer to another.
I have been around long enough to see technology morph from seemingly science fiction to a fully adopted requirement in everyone’s day to day lives. I was lucky to have experienced the early adoption of the consumer web experience when I was a teen, and when I compare to where we are now in such a short time, it excites me to see where we will be in the next 10, 20, 30 years.
The world has become a safer, smaller place where information is shared readily. Some parts of the world, where a child once had a very difficult chance of advancing their knowledge and experience, can now access as much information as they can process. It can be thought we are becoming more dependent on technology, but this has been happening for millennia, from the advent of farming through to industrialization. We are lucky enough to be in a time to experience the rapid growth curve, but at the same time need to understand the limitations of the technology that we have today.
What do I do for fun
Unbeknownst to most people I enjoy vegetable gardening and long road trips. There is something to be said about growing your own food from a seed and all the effort that is required to bear fruit. This translates into real world experiences whereas all things we may take for granted in the world, actually comes from multiple layers of effort from seed to the end consumer. I find road trips fulfilling as well, not necessarily the ones I have taken back to my home town in Saskatchewan a hundred times, but traveling around places that I have never been before. You miss a lot of the world if you only ever fly from city to city and miss all the parts in between.

Cloud Practice Lead
What do I do at Kaco
I lead the cloud practice here at Kaco. That means a lot of meetings with potential customers to understand their needs and explain how cloud technologies are enabling faster, better and stronger IT departments. There's a lot of disinformation out there but we are leaving these managers with an understanding of how their jobs are going to get much more fun and interesting.
Thoughts on Technology
I remember as a kid I was amazed at how a single megabyte of data could arrive at my house in under ten minutes. Then during my time at Shaw watching as an entire CD of music was downloaded in that same amount of time. Now if I'm on complimentary WiFi at the airport and my full length movie doesn't download to my phone before my flight leaves I'm left distraught. I love how my job is always changing and evolving, along with the incredibly bright people I get to work with on a daily basis in this great industry we work in.
What do I do for fun.
I've recently taken up both piano and model rocketry. This after I realized my children were not going to let me return to my days of beach volleyball and Friday night pub hopping. I do manage to find time for a game of golf in the summer and curling in the winter. Perhaps a bit too stereo-typically Albertan pastimes but great fun nonetheless. Closing the night down with a scotch and a good science fiction book is always a great way to end a busy week.

Chrysta Benning
Project Manager
What do I do at Kaco
I joined the Kaco Team in 2016 as a Project Manager. As part of this team I have had the opportunity to work on a multitude of projects supporting different technologies. I believe that a project managers’ role is a value driver, that helps organizations improve performance. This is done by delivering solutions to customers that are in scope, on time, and on-budget.
Thoughts on Technology
Technology is all around us. It’s in the refrigerator that keeps our food cold, mobile devices that allow us to be connected at all times. It‘s in the tools that are used to find and fix a blood clot in a person’s body and the rubber that the tires on your car are made from, it is all around us. Technology allows us to work smarter, solve complex problems and make everyday life easier. I love being on a team that is passionate about technology and learning and growing with it. It’s exciting how far we have come in the last 100 years with the use of technology, and I am excited for what we are able to do in the future with it.
What do I do for fun
I have a long list of things that I do for fun…
-Family time (when the kids are not fighting)
-Traveling to places I have never been (typically places that are hot)
-Going on crazy/fun filled adventures (ask me about them!)
-Amazing food (it’s good for your soul and belly)
-Drinking coffee tea and wine
- Doing “Maritimer” stuff (I’m from Labrador and enjoy the cold and a good ski-doo)

But to truly unlock these benefits, we need to consider ethics, inclusivity, and thoughtful implementation and wield this power for individual and collective good both.
